Citizens Union of the City of New York is a 501(c)4 organization that works to secure honest and effective government, fair and open elections and an informed and engaged citizenry, without regard to party, for the people of the City and State of New York. It advocates for policy and legislative changes and conducts evaluations of candidates for city and state offices to make recommendations to voters. Any person who subscribes to the objective of Citizens Union is eligible for membership in Citizens Union, provided that they are not a member of the New York State Legislature, Congress, or holds a public office voted by New York City residents.
