Internships: Citizens Union typically recruits interns ahead of the spring, fall, and summer semesters, depending on need and capacity. Interns participate in policy research, candidate evaluation, events planning, and much more. They learn valuable research and writing skills, attend legislative hearings, and gain familiarity with city and state governments. Citizens Union’s internship program is open to candidates with a variety of backgrounds, but with an interest in New York City and State politics, policy, and civic life. We are happy to work with academic institutions to facilitate receiving credit, grants, or stipends.

Internships with Citizens Union are hybrid, and includes some in person attendance at our offices, located at New York Law School.
