New York, N.Y. (March 7, 2022) – Citizens Union releases the following statement from Executive Director Betsy Gotbaum on Mayor Eric Adams’ nominations to the New York City districting commission:
“Citizens Union would like to congratulate Mayor Adams’ appointments to the New York City Districting Commission. The redistricting process the city is about to undertake will shape our city government for the next ten years. Now that the commission has been fully appointed, it is imperative that the commissioners remain as independent as possible, allow for ample public participation, and avoid politicizing the process,” said Betsy Gotbaum, executive director of Citizens Union.
