NY-12 Primary Candidate Forum

April 15 Democratic Primary Candidate Forum at 92Y

With Congressman Jerry Nadler retiring after more than three decades in the U.S. House, New York’s 12th Congressional District faces a wide-open race. Who will take his seat?

Join us for a candidate forum with leading Democratic contenders: Alex Bores, Micah Lasher, and Jack Schlossberg as they discuss their visions for Congress and address the key issues facing our city and district, moderated by Errol Louis, National Political Anchor of NY1 and host of Inside City Hall.

Organized by Abundance New York Fund, Citizens Union, Leadership Now Project, and NYC New Liberals, the forum will focus on the abundance agenda: the idea that New York’s challenges require building and delivering more housing, infrastructure, and public services. As New York grows less affordable, the city and state are losing people and representation. The next representative from NY-12 will have real tools to address these issues: federal funding, legislation, oversight, and a national platform. The question is who has the vision and ability to use them.

The event will cover governance and democracy, affordability, housing, child care, transportation, climate and energy, trade, immigration, the role of federal leadership in addressing critical local challenges, and concerns facing Jewish New Yorkers in the district and beyond. Expect a substantive discussion that delves into policy specifics, trade-offs, and concrete plans.
