Good-Government Groups Call on New York State Leaders to Adopt Reforms to Restore Public Trust

The leaders of Citizens Union of the City of New York, Common Cause/NY, League of Women Voters/N.Y.S., NYPIRG, and Reinvent Albany wrote a letter to Governor Cuomo, Senate Minority Leader Stewart-Cousins, Senate Majority Leader Flanagan, Assembly Speaker Heastie, Senate Co-Leader Klein, and Assembly Minority Leader Kolb urging them to pass an ethics reform package in response to a series of upcoming high-profile corruption trials.  The package of reforms includes improvements to budget transparency, stricter limits on outside income, and more effective watchdog agencies.
