Citizens Union Applauds Mayor’s Campaign to End Partisan Administration of Elections in New York

Citizens Union executive director Dick Dadey applauds Mayor Bloomberg’s decision to appoint a new Charter Revision Commission to conduct a top-to-bottom review of City government.  He also supports Bloomberg’s goal of building a nonpartisan coalition to administer elections in New York City.  Currently, the Board of Elections is the only remaining system of party patronage appointment in New York, which leads to partisan gridlock in major administrative decisions in the organization.
