The Metropolitan Transportation Association (MTA) is facing a large growth in projected expenses, contributing to budget deficits.  In order to remedy this issue, Citizen Union supports the Commission appointed by Governor Paterson’s recommendations for most non-revenue changes, a proposed regional Mobility Tax, securing revenue contributions from motorists through a tolling proposal, and the authorization of bi-annual regional consumer price index fare and toll increases.
