Testimony to the Districting Commission Regarding Preliminary Districts

Citizens Union urged the City Districting Commission to adjust proposed Council districts to better reflect the city’s growing Asian and Latino populations and ensure fairer representation, especially in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. They also recommended reducing district size deviations and increasing transparency by publishing detailed criteria used to draw the maps.
