Letter to Leaders requesting codification of Comptroller pre-audit and Database of Deals as part of the Article VII bills for the Fiscal Year 2019-2020 budget
On February 1, 2019, Citizens Union and six other watchdog groups submitted a letter to Governor Cuomo, Speaker Heastie, and Senate Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins, asking to put Comptroller pre-audit and Database of Deals into law. The letter encourages the codification of the emerging consensus on clean contracting oversight and transparency in the Article VII bills, which amend state law as part of the 30-day budget amendments and budget resolutions, allowing stakeholders to weigh in on statutory language, en route to codifying these worthy reforms in the FY2019-2020 budget.
