Volunteering and Internships

Join Citizens Union of the City of New York and support an independent, non partisan, civic DonateNoworganization of members who work to promote good government and advance political reform in the city and state of New York.

Citizens Union relies upon the support of its members for funding and involvement. As a member:

1. You build our capacity. Your membership contribution funds our work and makes possible our ability to pursue good government and advance political reform.

2. Your voice adds to our cause. Your participation amplifies the chorus of voices speaking out for our reform efforts in state and local government, raising our profile and helping our message resonate with policymakers, the press and the public.

3. You give us strength. Citizen Union counts you among our army of citizens who are involved in our advocacy for political and election reform on behalf of the nearly eight million citizens of New York. The more who join our ranks, the more effective we are in bringing about change.

4. You are connected. Being involved and supportive of Citizens Union gives you a front row seat to New York City politics. As a member, you receive our monthly e-newsletter, The Reformer, our primary and general election Voters Directory, invitations to our issue forums and special events, and an opportunity to serve on one of our many committees.

5. You inspire others. Citizens Union is proud of the inspiration our work generates as we push government to values its citizens, address critical issues, and operate in a fair and open manner. The more who join, the more we can inspire others to become involved and take up our cause too.

Memberships are renewed annually. Gifts to Citizens Union are not tax-deductible because they support our important direct lobbying and candidate evaluation.
