Responsibilities: The Youth Voting and Engagement Coordinator of Citizen’s Union Civic Education and Engagement Project will bring together young people and experts in civic education in a campaign to increase civic participation of New York City’s young people in voting and community involvement. The coordinator is responsible for advancing the project toward all its identified goals within an established timetable and budget.

About the Project: The focus of the Civic Education and Engagement Project is on millennial and gen Z generations that will make up the largest block of the electorate in the next decade and currently have some of the lowest rates of voter engagement. We are interested in increasing the rate of participation among this group, as well as increasing their understanding of how the levers of government work. Just as importantly, we want to highlight opportunities for individuals to take part in effecting change at the neighborhood, borough, city and state levels.
